Greater London South County Scouts is a registered charity © 2012
The main focus of the County Development Service is the development and growth of Scouting in Greater London South Scout County. We cover the London Boroughs of Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham Southwark and Wandsworth.
What is development?
Development is thinking about ways you can deliver even better Scouting to young people, and prioritising those ideas. There are so many ways to do that, including:
- New programme ideas
- Opening a new section
- Recruiting new adults
- Building community support
- Engaging with new communities
If it intends to enrich the Scouting experience you can bet it will be development!
Some examples of how we can help:
- Assist with devising and applying focused development plans.
- Starting a new Scout Group or Section.
- Support for Group Scout Leaders
- Help with recruitment and retention of adults
- Assist with engaging with local communities currently under represented in Scouting
- Assisting with District recruitment events and activities
- Supporting the launch of a new Scout Active Support unit.
On these pages you will find lots of tools to help you develop many different areas of your Scout
Group as well as the latest development news from around the County.
By completing our Group Health Check with your Group Leadership Team you will be able to easily put together a 12 month development action plan for your Group.
South London Scouts are proud to be associated with the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards.
