The main focus of the County Development Service is the development and growth of Scouting across South London Scout County. We cover the London Boroughs of Royal Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham Southwark and Wandsworth.
What is development?
Development is thinking about ways you can deliver even better Scouting to young people, and prioritising those ideas. There are so many ways to do that, including:
New programme ideas
Opening a new section
Recruiting new adults
Building community support
Engaging with new communities
If it intends to enrich the Scouting experience you can bet it will be development!
Some examples of how we can help:
Assist with devising and applying focused development plans.
Starting a new Scout Group or Section.
Support for Group Scout Leaders
Help with recruitment and retention of adults
Assist with engaging with local communities currently under represented in Scouting
Assisting with District recruitment events and activities
Supporting the launch of a new Scout Active Support unit.
On these pages you will find lots of tools to help you develop many different areas of your Scout Group as well as the latest development news from around the County.
